Microblading aftercare: a practitioner's guide

Microblading aftercare: a practitioner's guide

The first two weeks after microblading do most of the work in determining your healed result. The skin is recovering from a cosmetic tattoo, and how you treat it directly affects how crisp and even the strokes look once they settle.

For the first 7–10 days, keep the area clean and dry, avoid heavy sweating, and don't pick at the flaking that naturally occurs as the skin heals. Your artist will give you a specific aftercare routine — follow theirs over any generic advice, because it's tuned to the pigment and technique they used.

Healed colour always looks softer and lighter than it does immediately after the appointment. That's expected. The touch-up session, usually six to eight weeks later, is where your artist refines the shape and fills any areas that didn't retain pigment.
