Powder brows vs microblading: which is right for you?
By Elena Cruz · April 28, 2026

Microblading creates fine, hair-like strokes with a hand tool; powder brows build a soft, shaded fill with a machine. Both are semi-permanent and both are completed over two sessions — the difference is the look and, crucially, how each wears on different skin.
Microblading tends to suit normal-to-dry skin and people who want the most natural, hair-stroke finish. On oily or combination skin, those crisp strokes can blur over time — which is why many artists steer oily skin toward powder or combination brows for a result that holds.
The best way to decide is a consultation: a good artist will look at your skin, your natural brows, and the look you want before recommending a technique. Don't pick the method first and the artist second.
